This is How it Always Is

Laurie Frankel

This is the story of a family – Rosie, Penn and their five boys. The days are full of drama, laughter, tears, friendship, rivalry and making order out of chaos.

Then the youngest boy tells his parents what he wants to be when he grows up. A chef. A vet. A dinosaur. A farmer. A scientist. A girl.

When little Claude puts on a skirt and calls herself Poppy, her family love her as much as ever.

But it’s not going to be that simple for everyone…

About the author

She and her husband and daughter live on a nearly vertical hill from which Laurie can watch three different bridges when she’s staring out her windows between worlds.

Laurie’s first novel, The Atlas of Love, was published in 2010, followed in 2012 by Goodbye For Now. This Is How It Always Is is Laurie’s third novel.
